Tommy Severn has polo running through his veins. His grandfather played in the army, so it was inevitable that the sport would trickle down the Severn family tree. Tommy was put on top of a horse at just the age of three and instantly felt at home. Pony Club followed and it’s here that Tommy learnt to play Polo.
Fast forward to the present and Tommy has played Polo across the globe – including in Argentina and South Africa – and has a growing trophy cabinet. The future is very bright for young Tommy, who’s already a three-handicap player.
“I got into the sport from a very young age – my Grandfather played in the Army and therefore all my family play. Coming up through the pony club was also great fun and allowed me to make friends and learn how to play polo.”
“In my career, I’ve been very fortunate to play all over the world at a good level of polo. I’ve played a few times at Palermo in Argentina, which has been a massive highlight so far, as was playing in the South African open. Winning the County Cup in 2019 was special too as I was part of a really fun team.”
“I’m now well mounted in both England and Argentina, thanks to Lovelocks Polo Stud, which will allow me to push on and continue to work on my handicap.”
“I’d say that my style is quite low key; I try to look smart and representable – nothing too over the top. The overhead hoodies look great and are very easy to wear – they’re really comfortable and go nicely with a pair of jeans.”
“I’m really happy to be a Brand Ambassador for Hurlingham Polo. They’ve been incredibly supportive and it’s great to be able to represent them. I think the brand’s fantastic and love it when I step on to a Polo field wearing the On-Field gear.”
