All of us at Hurlingham Polo are incredibly proud to announce an exciting new partnership between ourselves and the Royal Navy Polo Association.
As part of the landmark partnership, we’ve provided bespoke team kits for both the Royal Navy and the Royal Navy Blue Jackets Polo teams.
There’s a strong historic link between the Royal Navy and the sport of polo that dates as far back as the 1860s, where it was played by naval teams in several foreign stations. In 1929, the Royal Navy Polo Association (RNPA) was founded by Admiral of the Fleet Lord Keyes and continues to this day under the umbrella of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Equestrian Association.
Fast forward to 2019, and the RNPA are based in Tidworth Polo Club, where their purpose is to maintain the game of polo within the Royal Navy, and Royal Marines, by encouraging new players of all ranks into the sport.
The RNPA will be wearing the new Hurlingham kit for the first time today in the historic Rundle Cup, where they’ll be taking on the Army’s Polo team in front of a bumper crowd of 5,000 spectators.
