The biggest tournament of the season in the land of the long white cloud

Mystery Creek were triumphant in the 43rd instalment of the New Zealand Open held at Auckland Polo Club. The team, led by JP Clarkin and assisted by fellow ‘Kiwis’ Kit Brooks and Ethan Wade as well as talented young Englishman Will Harper played in their eye catching orange and light blue bespoke Hurlingham premium team kits.

Six teams competed for the coveted trophy over the week featuring top professionals from New Zealand, Australia, England and Argentina took part. The finals attracted huge crowds who enjoyed the Polo as well as plenty of other activities put on around the club.

The final was played against a South Island team, Glenmark comprised of Lachie Gilmore, Peter Dormer, Sam Martin and James Harper. The action packed game was neck and neck the whole way through with Mystery Creek eventually running out winners 11-8. It was a personal

victory for Will Harper who was voted most valuable player whilst also beating
his father James Harper for the first time in a major tournament final.

We now look forward to Australia where Frasers England will be taking on Australia in a test match on the 5th April.
