Over 140 years ago, The Hurlingham Club took a game with no formal rules and shaped it into one of the most revered and glamorous sports in the world. They were not afraid to make their own rules and give polo authenticity, integrity and – most importantly – a home.

Hurlingham Polo 1875 is a luxury lifestyle and clothing brand from the Hurlingham Polo Association, the sport’s oldest and most internationally significant governing body, recognised and respected around the world. The brand’s lifestyle and polo clothing is inspired by polo’s rich heritage and the community’s sense of tradition. The Summer 2019 collection embraces the history of British polo culture but introduces a more contemporary edge, it’s been designed for the rule makers in life.

Launching nationwide, and available in House of Fraser – including in its flagship Oxford Street store in London, the SS19 collection offers authentic styles that pay homage to the brand’s past, like the incorporation of details from the Hussar regiment to reference the sport’s military background.

Another standout moment from the collection is the Tattersall cloth used in the shirting, a fabric that takes inspiration from the 18th century horse market in Tattersall where the cloth was used to produce artisan blankets.

Of course, the classic Polo Shirt is always a focal point; a style that combines Hurlingham Polo 1875’s core design ideals: athleticism, luxury and comfort. Quality fabrics, excellent craftsmanship and functionality are integral in every design. A combination of aesthetics and ergonomics are guaranteed to make customers look good and feel outstanding.

The Summer 19 collection will be showcased in the first ever Hurlingham Polo 1875 campaign and forthcoming projects will include collaborations with the young rising stars of polo, as well as established stars of the sport.

“One common theme that can be seen throughout our new collection is simplicity. We wanted to create a range that was truly multi-purpose so that the products could suit a variety of looks. We’ve done this by creating minimalistic, stripped back, designs and have used solid colours – such as grey, navy, white and light blue – that are, by their nature, adaptable.

“We’ve of course designed several bolder pieces too, using a variety of brighter colours that are perfect for the hot summer weather.

“All of us at Hurlingham are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved – it’s been a long journey that’s involved a lot of hard work, but we’re delighted with the final product and are confident that our customers will be too.”
