Your Mini-Break Capsule Wardrobe
The mini break. Much needed by the time Easter comes around, then of course there’s the May Bank holidays to take advantage of - but what to pack and how to make sure it’s light? Whether you’re headed for the sunshine of the Riviera or are sticking to destinations with unpredictable climates akin to good ‘ol Blighty, we’ve got you covered:
A smart jacket is a must for some fine dining in the evening regardless of your destination. It means you can keep the rest of your outfit comfortable and casual, but still look like you’ve made an effort. Choose one that’s lightweight, crease proof and waterproof like our uber sustainable Ventile® Cotton Travel Jacket.
Roll with a classic
You can’t possibly get on any plane, train or automobile without the humble polo. Perfect for daytime strolls along beeches and city streets alike. Pack a light and bright colour for a sunny scene and pair with chino shorts or opt for darker tones for a brisker climate and wear under a fleece.
Chinos chinos chinos
Perfect for warmer city breaks, chino shorts are a minibreak wardrobe staple. Casual enough for daywear and smart enough to wear out for those balmy summer evenings dining al fresco. No need to trek back to the hotel and change. Or if the weather is on the cooler side, opt for a full-length chino. Pair with a polo and deck shoes for a smart casual, preppy look.
A zip through knit or hoodie are ideal if your destinations weather forecasts are a little on the changeable side. Liteweight, soft and comfortable, far more convenient than packing a big coat or running the risk with nothing at all. We love the knitted zip through jacket for style and convenience in one.
And there you have it, aside from the usual extras, decent pair of shoes and obligatory Wayfarers/Aviators, you’re good to do.
Oh, and don’t forget your toothbrush.
